I live in Becej, the most beautiful town in the world. It is a small town but full of joy, love and interesting sights. Becej has got a football, basketball and a volleyball club. The main street in Becej is the street of Marshall Tito, but the most beautiful one is the “Green Street”. It is called that way because it is full of trees and flowers. In Becej you can see sights as: the main sqare in the centre, the theatre, the museum and two beautiful churches – a Catholic and an Orthodox. There are also many cafes, disco clubs... The river Tisa flows through Becej. It is a nice river, but also a bit polluted. By the river there is a beautiful park full of trees and flowers. Becej has four primary schools and three secondary schools. I’m very happy because I live in Becej because it is never boring and there is no crime.

Every child has a favourite season. Many children like summer best and I like summer best too. Why? That is a very easy question. I like summer best because I don’t go to school. I can eat ice cream and go to the swimming pool. Every summer I go to the seaside with my parents and my brother. On the seaside there are many people and it is very nice. There I swim and have fun. After that we go to Belgrade to visit my aunt. Belgrade is a big city and there are big playgrounds, street, cinemas, churches, ice rinks. I go to Zagreb to visit my sister Suzana, too. During the summer I can play all day and I can go to my friends. I go for a walk, to the swimming pool. Every Saturday I go to the playground with my friends, there we play basketball, football and swings. On the first of September children come back to school, and because of that they can’t play all day. They must learn.

I like summer best because I have fun during the holiday.

Hey, come here! Look at those leaves! They are brown, yellow and orange and some of them are still green. Why? Oh, you don’t know why the leaves look like that? Do you know which season it is now? You don’t know? It’s autumn! You are right. In autumn children are not so happy because then school starts and they don’t have much time for playing. They have to learn, learn and learn. They don’t have free time for family, friends and themselves. The roads are covered with leaves. There is a lot of mud also. It often rains, but sometimes we have days without rain. But there is one good thing why some children like autumn. In autumn there are holidays that we celebrate. They are traditional and they are celebrated by many people. I like autumn because I see my old and good friends and teachers. But I don’t like it because there is a lot of rain.

In our country we have a lot of holidays. At the end of the year, on 31^st December is New Year. Then people go out, toast, send postcards, give and get presents and do many funny things. On 25^th December and 7^th January we celebrate Christmas. On 25^th December is the Catholic and on 7^th January is the Orthodox Christmas. On 6^th January we go out at night and sing Christmas carols. On 31^st October is Halloween and we children get dressed in many funny costumes and go out and scare people. In April comes the Easter bunny, but we don’t know the exact date of the holiday. Birthdays are every day. Every day somebody has his/her birthday and the people get presents, get postcards, blow candles on birthday cakes and have fun. On 14^th February is St Valentine’s day and then we get postcards, small presents... We have more holidays, but these are the most important ones.
